In which our heroine attends a rummage sale and comes across vast quantities of alpaca fleeceThe sign said alpaca fleeces for $5 a bag. I asked the nice young lady if any were left, and how large the bags were. These were 30 gallon trash bags, and did I want the white, brown, or black? Yes please.
Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full.

A closeup of the white fleece:

The brown is a lovely cinnamon, which for some reason the camera is rejecting. There is no grey in there in real life.

More fibery closeups:

And the black is breathtaking.

Even the guard hairs are pretty! But out they must come.

So concludes this chapter.

Fabulous find!!
that's a fantastic find! what are you going to do with it all? I think you need to find a drum carder at a rummage sale next. As you're the Spinning Rummage Queen, I don't put it past you.
The fiber is beautiful. Thank you for the comment on my scarf.
Oh! *swoon* Beautiful fiber!
My monitor has finger prints all over it from fondling your fleeces.
Wonky Mom
Blimey! That black is outta sight. Your photography skillz are not too shabby either.
I am fainting with envy.
That's like the end of a fabulous romance novel, only without the man 'cause hey, who needs 'em anyway?
